Building Standards Board

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Building Standards Board shall be appointed by the City Council for the City of Beeville. The Board is composed of five members, each of whom shall be a resident of the City. Of the members first appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year, two for a term of two years, and thereafter they shall be appointed for terms of three years. Vacancies shall be filled for an unexpired term in the manner in which original appointments are required to be made. Three members of the Board shall constitute a quorum. In varying the application of any provisions of the Code or in making any decision, affirmative votes of the majority present but not less than 3 affirmative votes shall be required. The Board shall establish rules and regulations for its own procedure, not inconsistent with the provisions of the Code. The Board shall meet at regular intervals to be determined by the Chairman and shall meet for such hearings as are required to be held upon complaints filed by the Official and for such hearings as are requested in writing by a citizen whose property is, or may be, affected adversely by the application of any provisions of the Ordinance
