General Elections

The City Secretary serves as the Election Official for the City of Beeville. City elections shall be conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code. 

The next general election is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024. Application for a place on the ballot must be submitted to the City Secretary’s Office, 400 N. Washington Street, Beeville, TX 78102 by Friday, February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The election will be conducted by the Bee County Elections Administrator, 105 W. Corpus Christi Street, Beeville, TX 78102.

Regular business house for the Office of the City Secretary are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (closed from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDACY: 

Candidates applying for office for the City of Beeville must meet the requirements per Section 141 of the Texas Election Code and Beeville Home Rule Charter. 

  • Be a United States Citizen; 
  • Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
  • Be a qualified voter of the City of Beeville for at least twelve (12) months at the time of filing and maintain their primary residence within the city for term of office;
  • Have not been determined by final judgement of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote;
  • Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities; and 
  • Timely submit a completed application for a place on the ballot.

Campaign Finance Reports 

Reporting requirements and other regulations are set out in Title 15 of the Texas Election Code (Ch. 251-259) and in the rules adopted by the Texas Ethics Commission. Officeholders as well as candidates are subject to regulation under Title 15. Officeholders as well as Candidates are required by state law to file campaign finance reports (Form C/OH) with the City Secretary's Office. Reporting requirements end when a candidate has filed a final report with the City Secretary.
