The City of Beeville is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and service-focused City Clerk to join our team under the direction of the City Secretary and Deputy City Secretary. This position plays a vital role in supporting the City Secretary’s Office and often serves as the first point of contact for residents and visitors. Job Summary:
This position provides administrative and clerical support to the City Secretary’s Office. Under the general direction of the City Secretary and Deputy City Secretary, the City Clerk will assist with customer service, records management, permits, and election processes, among other key responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, edit, publish, and distribute internal and external communications, including press releases, brochures, and other city-related content.
Prepare and post notices for City Council, Board, and Commission meetings. Notify media and members, and confirm attendance.
Assist with the preparation and administration of City and Water District elections.
Manage all City publications and public notices.
Process birth and death certificates.
Issue and manage permits processed through the City Secretary’s Office.
Assist with Public Information Act requests.
Maintain the City’s Records Management Program.
Attend Board and Commission meetings as needed.
Provide information and assistance to residents, employees, and visitors.
Additional Duties:
Process mail for various City departments.
Provide administrative support to the City Secretary and Deputy City Secretary, including handling calls, taking messages, and coordinating appointments.
Run errands as needed (e.g., to the post office, tax office, courthouse, and elections office).
Process vehicle license plates for City departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in a public-facing administrative or office role preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver’s License or access to reliable alternate transportation.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and records management software.
Skilled in the use of standard office equipment (copier, fax machine, scanner, postage machine).
Accurate data entry and document preparation skills.
Strong problem-solving and customer service abilities.
